Technology promises rapid changes in the way of giving and receiving health care: I) Sharing health electronic information will give to the patients more power, said John Gomez (Eclipsys). It is access to laboratory tests, medical records, imaging and even to medical journals. It is customary now to share on Facebook, ultrasound pictures of babies, medical information and treatments. II) Now we have individualized medical information (MyChart program, Google Health) existing in USA, to this respect government aid. III) Some argues that this kind of customized information will make the patient to feel more committed to his health care, offering also the physician his best medical treatments. IV) However will be less visits to the doctor, a space that will be taken by nurses, physician assistants, with questions and explanations. Perhaps some patients become advisors or allies of physicians in the care of his health, although some do not fully understand data. Educate, inform and explain is the task. V) Hospitals are expected to more competitive, to attract more customers. When integrating genomics, health care will be highly individualized.

VI) It is expected to reduce the number of errors in medical records, and warnings of potential dangers. Expected are changes in attitudes to lifestyles, diet etc. Information will be individualized and portable. VII) Sure will occur robbery of health information as electronic records will have important data (genomic) (See: Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences). The solution to this problem would be the creation of anonymous records (International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems :ICD), with a series of algorithms and related codes. VIII) Maybe at some point the American FDA will regulate smart phones (Apps, online: HealthMap, iMedical Apps.com app), where some doctors make decisions, based on heart rate data, scans of organs, adverse effects of medications, interpretation of electrocardiograms, vital statistics, etc. IX) The traditional clinical trial will not be abandoned. The coming technology is aimed at young resident doctors.

TRATAMIENTO MEDICO ONLINE

La tecnología augura cambios acelerados en la forma de dar y recibir cuidados de salud: I) Compartiendo información electrónica de registros médicos de salud, pronto los pacientes tendrán mas poder, asegura John Gomez (Eclipsys). Se trata de acceso a tests de laboratorio, historias clínicas, tomografías y hasta acceso a journals médicos. Ya es costumbre compartir en Facebook, imágenes de ultrasonido de bebes, información de médicos y tratamientos. II) Ya circula información individualizada, de historias clínicas autocreadas o con ayuda (MyChart program, Google Health), existiendo en USA, existe al respecto ayuda gubernamental. III) Se aduce que esta información personalizada al paciente hará que estos se sientan más comprometidos con el cuidado de su salud, ofreciendo los médicos mejores tratamientos. IV) Se verá menos al médico, espacio que será tomado por enfermeras, asistentes de médicos, mediante preguntas y explicaciones. Tal vez algunos pacientes se conviertan en asesores o aliados de los médicos en el cuidado de su salud, aunque algunos no comprendan totalmente los datos. Educar, informar y explicar es la tarea. V) Se esperan hospitales mas competitivos, que capten mas clientes. Cuando se integre la genómica la atención será muy individualizada.

VI) Se espera reducir el número de errores en registros médicos y alertas sobre peligros potenciales. Se esperan cambios en actitudes hacia estilos de vida, dieta,etc. La información será individualizada y portable. VII) Existirán robos de información sanitaria, ya que los registros electrónicos tendran datos importantes (genómicos) (Ver: Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences). La solución a este problema sería la creación de registros anónimos (International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems : ICD), con una serie de algoritmos y códigos relacionados. VIII) Tal vez en algún momento la FDA americana, regule los teléfonos inteligentes (Apps, online : iMedicalApps.com HealthMap app), desde donde algunos médicos tomaran decisiones, en base a datos de ritmos cardiacos, scans de órganos, efectos adversos de medicamentos, interpretación de electrocardiogramas, estadisticas vitales, etc. IX) El juicio clínico tradicional no será abandonado. La tecnología por venir apunta a médicos residentes jóvenes.
