Breaktrough of the year ?.
I have just read the last number of the magazine Science and to finish to analyze the list elaborated by the new Editor of Science : Colin Norman in relationship to the better scientific contributions of the year : 2005.
1) The 12/08/05 (See in Ciencia: Scientific event of the year), Ï considered as the scientific event of the year : 2005, the landing of the probe Huygens in Titan and the path as a whole of its ship nursemaid: the Cassini. Nearly I do not succeed, since my prediction occupies the second place in the preferences -a total of 10, of Science
2) Though I recognize that the works carried out in : a) in chimpanzees (description of the complete genome, that will permit through comparative analysis with the human genome, to obtain a better comprehension and new therapies to certain human illnesses b), the works in blackcaps birds that have clarified how from a common ancestor and by environmental pressures, 2 different species are generated and c) the study of the 1918, influenza virus (present in human tissues preserved in ice), that permit to fight with efficacy against the responsible virus of the present one pandemia of influenza, as also to predict future variations of many virus, they are important overall to offer to these works the first place, exists also the possibility that sopme friends of Norman, were found seen influenced by the debate that itself pound at present in some states of USA on the convenience or not of teach alternate possibilities to the Evolution{s Theory (See: Intelligent Design against Evolution:12/22/05, in Ciencia), and taken party by works related to Evolution. For me a slant in this selection exists. Science must carry out this type of elections with a jury of greater amplitude including religious sectors. In reality in science still we know very little. Trying to generalize certain discoveries (for me, most observations to great scale of the nature), seems to me imprudent and too pretentious.

¿Evento cientifico del año? Science influenciada ?
Acabo de leer el ultimo numero de la revista Science y terminar de analizar la lista elaborada por el nuevo Editor de Science Colin Norman en relacion a las mejores contribuciones científicas del año que termina (2005).
1) El 12/08/05 (Ver en Ciencia: Scientific event of the year), consideré como evento científico del año 2005, el aterrizaje de la sonda Huygens en Titan y la trayectoria en conjunto de su nave nodriza : la Cassini. Por poco no acerté, ya que mi predicción ocupa el segundo lugar en las preferencias -un total de 10, de Science
2) Si bien reconozco que los trabajos realizados a) en chimpancés (descripción del genoma completo, que permitira via análisis comparativos con el genoma humano, obtener una mejor comprensión y nuevas terapias a ciertas enfermedades humanas b), trabajos en aves de capa negra que han aclarado como a partir de un ancestro comun y por diferencias medioambientales, se generan 2 especies diferentes y c) el estudio del virus de la influenza de 1918 (presente en tejidos humanos preservados en hielo), que permitirá combatir con más eficacia al virus causante de la actual pandemia de influenza, asi como tambien predecir variaciones futuras de muchos virus ; son importantes de conjunto para otorgarle el primer lugar existe tambien la posibilidad de que los acolitos de Norman, se hallan visto influenciados por el debate que se libra actualmente en algunos estados de USA sobre la conveniencia o nó, de enseñar posibilidades alternas a la Teoria de la Evolución (ver: Intelligent Design against Evolution:12/22/05, en Ciencia), y tomado partido por trabajos relacionados con Evolución. Para mi existe un sesgo en esta selección. Science deberia realizar este tipo de lecciones con un jurado de mayor amplitud incluyendo sectores religiosos. En realidad en ciencia todavía conocemos muy poco. Tratar de generalizar ciertos descubrimientos (para mi, observaciones sistematizadas a gran escala, de la naturaleza), me parece imprudente y demasiado pretencioso.Leer más:
