Letal medicines.
It is very frequent in Peru (Digemid), the sale (25% of the total of sold medicines), of false or adulterated medicines, in pharmacies and warehouses of slumses, populated zones of Lima (Capon Center, Mesa Redonda, El Hueco) and inside the country, coming from China, Russia and South Korea. One is mainly : antibiotics, antiinflammatories, digestive enzymes, vitamins and others (WHO/2006). The problem is that this attack against the public health, begins to acquire dangerous criminal borders not only in Peru. In Panama died in the course of the 2006: 365 people (100 documented to the date, continue the corpse exhumation), because of the ingestion of a toxic (diethylene glycol, cost of 5 barrels: $725-845: a lethal, cheap chemical product used as antifreezing), sold falsely like clone substitute of glycerin (cost of 5 barrels: $1,815. employee like preservative in drugs, foods and dental paste). Authorities of the Panamanian government believing at all (they did not analyze chemically the product), that the preservative was glycerin mixed the content of 46 barrels containing the lethal diethylene glycol in 260,000 medicine bottles for cough, fever, even like injectables, generating in the affected ones: renal insufficiency, upheavals of the SNC, motor paralysis, difficult breathing without attendance and death. A contaminated sample sent to the C.D.C./USA, detected in 48 hours: diethylene glycol. The notable of the case, is that a journalistic team of the NYT (WALT BOGDANICH and JAKE HOOKER), locate the Chinese factories where the toxic was produced (Taixing/Hengxiang), the forged companies that transported the toxic from China to Panama, the documents that the criminals displayed falsely to diethylene glycol like glycerin of high purity (99.5%), etc. Although in the last 20 years in Haiti, Argentina, Nigeria, India, Bangladesh have happened at least 8 massive poisonings : Michael L. Bennish, 1995, BMJ), this is one of not very often in which the crime has been clearly documented. For us one of the important measures is the intercountry creation of clones of the American FDA (able to analyze all type of medicines quickly), in groupings of underdeveloped countries or label with microchips the true medicines.
Medicinas letales.
