HIDDEN UNIVERSES
The finding of an excess of protons and high energy electrons collected by balls around the south pole (ATIC Project), the PAMELA satellite, gamma-ray satellites and others, almost confirm their origin from the dark matter (85% matter of our universe), suggesting that we could be living near a hidden sector of the cosmos -in close proximity to us- in extra dimensions, theorized for decades by Superstring Theory. The fact that we are not aware of this, could be due to the fact that their constituents are particles (weakly Interacting Massive Particle: WIMPs), that interact very weakly with the visible matter in our universe. It is assumed that the WIMPs, collide and destroy each other, leaving a trail of electrons, protons, positrons and antiprotons, similar to those produced when cosmic rays collide against the interstellar dust.
Although some argue that WIMPS are neutralinos, their limited ability to produce high energy electrons, discard them. Best candidates are Kaluza-Klein particles (Nature, vol 456, p 362). It is interesting that electrons would be able to enter to these hidden worlds, moving in them at different speeds. The center of our galaxy would be the epicenter of collision and annihilation of these particles, generating large amounts of electrons and positrons, with enormous amounts of spatial radiation.

UNIVERSOS OCULTOS
