BEING ALIVE IN NANOCHIPS

Abstract from Der Spiegel.

Reviving ideas of transhumanism (improved humans, eternal life), the neuroscientist and sci- fi writer David Eagleman, sustains that 1) Scan copies of our brains and memoirs impregnated in silicon, will allow us to live forever. Nanochips will preserve our memoirs, not caring if to conform these neo-structures, let us have to settle in PCs. In fact we will inhabit virtual worlds like those seen in Matrix. 2) Storing enormous quantities of data we will participate of big simulations, because at the end, a brain is a computer.

EagleMan says that : 3) The important thing is not the structure but brain functioning algorithms, not caring if brain's structures are not organic. 4) Living forever we will expect to watch our own deaths. We will live varied types of life after-death, after our natural death.

Reviviendo ideas de transhumanistas (humanos mejorados, vida eterna), el neurocientifico y escritor de ciencia ficción David Eagleman, sostiene que 1) copias escaneadas de nuestros cerebros y memorias impregnadas en sílice, nos permitirán vivir eternamente. Nanochips preservarán nuestras nuestras memorias, no importando si para conformar estas neo-estructuras, tengamos que instalarnos en PCs. De hecho habitaremos mundos virtuales como los vistos en Matrix. 2) Almacenando enormes cantidades de datos participaremos de grandes simulaciones, porque en el fondo un cerebro es un computador.

Eagleman sostiene que 3) Lo importante no es la estructura sino los algoritmos cerebrales funcionantes, no importando si las estructuras de los cerebros por venir, disten de ser orgánicas. 4) Viviendo eternamente, expectaremos nuestras propias muertes. Asimismo, viviremos variados tipos de vida, después de producidas nuestras muertes naturales.
