Leading his telescope to the sky, Galileo discovered mountains and craters on the Moon, the largest satellites of Jupiter, the stars of the Milky Way, defending the Copernican concept of the world. With the publication of Sidereus Nuncius (Sidereal Messenger), his opposition to official conceptions of the church was clear. His weapons were the aristotelian logic and the platonic philosophy. This was enough to give way to the sudden transformation of the scientific view and the beginning of modern science.

Dirigiendo su telescopio al cielo Galileo descubrió montañas y cráteres en la Luna, los satélites mayores de Júpiter, las estrellas de la Vía Láctea ubicándose a favor de la concepción copernicana del mundo. Con la publicación de Sidereus Nuncius (Mensajero sidéreo), su oposición a las concepciones oficiales de la iglesia fué clara. Sus armas fueron la lógica aristotélica y la filosofía platónica. Con ello bastó para dar paso a la brusca transformación de la visión científica y el inicio de la ciencia moderna.
