Ups and downs of the human mind (Claroscuros de la mente humana).

A German movie very singular exists, trasmitted several times in the Peruvian TV. In it German newborns stolen in Europe are grown up in poor zones of Latin America. Later as teenagers, they are extracted their kidneys, for to be transplanted to people with power or, of great wealth, with terminal kidney failure affections. As the reality surpasses all movies and to the science fiction, I permit me to transcribe the following real history, that by these days gave trembles to all Peruvian people. C.H., 18 years expectant mother of 8 months, expected anxiously the birth of her first son. To such end she went punctually to primary hospital (medical post), of Villa el Salvador (peripheral human settlement of: 1 000 000 inhabitants), to be carried out vital controls.
In the last 15 days she was contacted insistently by a fake social cleaning woman of 25 years who offered her free attention in a prestigious medical Clinic of Lima. 8 days ago, C.H., accompanied by the woman carried out an additional visit to the Clinic. We do not know what occurred later, but the reconstruction carried to charge by forensic doctors, police experts, statements of the social cleaning woman (captured last night), and a friend expectant mother of the deceased, established that C.H., was convinced that afternoon, to be submitted to a surgical Caesarean section. When the surgical act ended, C.H., was strangled and struck with a blunt instrument in the head, dying immediately. Later, she was placed in a cardboard box, and abandoned in the margins of a highway. Today, it seems that the newborn would had been found in the own Maternity of Lima. According to statements of the social cleaning woman, its organization submitted to surgical caesarean section to all pregnant mothers, to be remained –by force- with the newborn. We have pertinent questions : 1) who practiced the cesarea? 2) who they carried out the prenatals checkup? -In recent months C.H.,was checked up 2 times by a gynecologist and a nurse- 3) who certified, the good health of the newborn?. The answers emerge obvious. The ups and downs of the human mind, writes down in all professions. The facts suggest that the horrendous crime was committed by an organization dedicated to the traffic of newborns, childrens and very possibly to traffic of organs.

In recent years, Peru, comes being invaded by criminal bands of different places of the world. It is impossible to stop this flow. In the meantime when the donors are scarce, there are some people who would pay what be, by a new organ. What to do? The usual thing, that is prevent and control with the systems of caution and intelligence the start and propagation of these criminal activities. Nevertheless the science seems to have ad you carry an organs and tissue spare system (obtained of the own patient), done not quarrel with the ethics. As to obtain stem cell, it is necessary to destroy an embryo, Robert Lanza, chief researcher of Advanced Cell Technology, has just proposed the extraction of a blastomere (one cell), of a preblastocist of 8 cells, leaving the 7 remaining cells to be established in the uterus. According to him (by subsequent studies), the eradicated blastomere is reconstructed soon and the new mice are born without anomalies. It is expected that this technology will be experienced in humans with success, in order to overcome ethical questionings.
