COMING DISCOVERIES

A group of scientists foresee the following discoveries for the following next 10 years. Heidi B Hammel (Space Science Institute), we will orbit and discover the 2011, the insides of the large asteroid Vesta (330 miles wide). An asteroid that was born along with our solar system 4.6 billion years ago. After it, scientific will study Ceres (likely to have water, minerals and a small atmosphere). Charles M. Vest (President, National Academy of Engineering), forecast a new era in biology. Until now, biologists were studying cells and tissues, while engineers built bridges, buildings and factories. Realizing engineers in recent years about efficiency, strength and flexibility of living forms, they have begun to imitate in their buildings some of these processes. At the University of Delft/Netherlands, certain bacteria close cracks in concrete construction. Steven Strogatz (Applied Mathematics at Cornell University), says that soon the computers will tell us what is true but not necessarily that we will understand it. At the University of Cornell have created Eureqa, a computer that has rediscovered the physical laws of Newton. Rob Carlson (Biodesic), foresee that in the coming years some fans could draw a little blood, add to it commercial genes and facilitators obtaining quickly efficient and inexpensive stem cells. André A. Fenton (Center for Neural Science, NYU), said that soon will be discovered the organization of memory within the brain. Un grupo de cientificos prevee los siguientes descubrimientos para los siguientes próximos 10 años. Heidi B Hammel (Space Science Institute), orbitar y descubrir el 2011, las interioridades del gran asteroide Vesta (330 millas de ancho). Un asteroide que nació junto con nuestro sistema solar hace 4.6 billones de años. Luego se estudiará a Ceres (posibilidades de tener agua, minerales y una pequeña atmósfera). Charles M. Vest (President, National Academy of Engineering). Pronostica una nueva era en la biologia. Hasta hoy, los biólogos estudiaban celulas y tejidos, mientras los ingenieros construían puentes, edificios y fabricas. Al percatarse los ingenieros en los últimos años de la eficiencia,fuerza y flexibilidad de las formas vivientes, han empezado a imitar en sus construcciones algunos de esos procesos. En la Universidad de Delft/Netherlands, ciertas bacterias cierran grietas en construcciones de concreto. El y su equipo han descubierto la molecula PKMZeta que almacena memoria y que si se la bloquea desaparece lo almacenado.
