Doping and Prizes

What happens when a varied and growing number of athletes (runners, swimmers) and now cyclists, struggles to tighten their forces at a new level, by means of use of banned energizers and the official authorities continue vetoing their use. Apparently nothing, since in accordance with the sight, nothing will stop this improper conduct. It seemed that to win to like of place, it is an inherited trait of the human being. And, concerning the vetoes always will exist ways to put aside them. http://www.nytimes.com/2006/07/28/sports/28cnd-landis.html?hp&ex=1154145600&en=7746221f59e07ec3&ei=5094&partner=homepage That seems to be the case of the American Floyd Landis, winner of the ciclistic Tour de France (20 stages). It happens that in stage 17, one of the urine samples of Landis (the A), gave positive : Relation Testosterone/epitestosterone =6/1, value very high (normal Value: up to 2/1), sinonymous of doping. Urine, sample B has already been processed and nowadays to 5.30 afternoon the official authorities will announce the results. If again it gives positive, Landis will be sanctioned, retiring him the prize that is possibly granted to the spaniard : Oscar Pereiro, which remained the second.

The problem is that according to Shalander Basin, (University of Boston), expert in dosages of testosterone (anabolic hormonal that supposedly increases the muscular strenght, lift the number of red blood cells giving additional energy and recovery of the athlete), could exist normal ranges of ampler ranks than the stipulated ones until now. Also, the consumption of alcohol or hormonal medicines, against the hiphotyroidism (disease that Landis, suffers), could also affects the test results. That is to say, that scientifically could exist ways to avoid or to annul the sanctions. If the doping test of T/E of Landis leaves today in normal rank, Landis will continue with the prize and more athletes will continue using energizers. Before Floyd - in this same Tour de France- 58 cyclists, were eliminated by use of prohibited substances.
