Weightlesness (gravity zero) and physiotherapy.

30 years ago when I carried out professional works in Churin/Peru, remain surprised to see people with big sequelae of poliomyelitis (that by that time immobilized patients and was frequent), being bathed often in the thermal baths. The reason to carry out this practice was that (harmonious with the principle of Archimedes), the human body weighed 50% less in the water, by which the physical rehabilitation exercises were less hardly and carried out with greater ease, thing that I really verified. Yesterday in another setting (gravity zero, simulated in an airplane that performed 8 parabolic maneuvers), the english physic Stephen Hawking (65 years. University of Cambridge), mobilize freely (25 seconds) -in the space- the totality of his body (paralyzed since 43 years ago on account of an irreversible affection of his motor neurons). Today, surprised and fascinated -like many people- I think that physiotherapy performed in gravity zero spaces, will be one of the large avenues that the present medicine owes and needs to exploit.

Fisioterapia y gravedad zero.
