It motivates the present note, a reflection meditated and calm around the functions and aims of the work, given: 1- the constant sentences, established and originating in the countries more developed in the sense that hard work, means to be noblemen and is gratifying. The affluent remunerated hard work (not matter at what cost), would happen then to be and end aim in itself and 2- the recent exhibition of reasons, in Lima, of the Spanish (picture to the left), Nuria Chinchilla, whose curriculum exhibits to be : Director of the International Center for the Work and the Family and member of the Institute of Superior Studies of the Company (IESE), of Spain. Having arrived at the Peru, invited by the Program of Administracio'n (PAD) of the University of Piura, the Dra. Chinchilla, has been struggling to introduce in our country, some ideas maintained by her and their equipment, for 6 years: the integration of the family and the work. In its book: "Reconciliation of the work and family", the Dra Chinchilla, refers that many successful ones, are at the same time people failed in their pèrsonal life. It comes up that to dedicate 100% to hard work is a mistake, inasmuch - the work does not have to exclude -, but to enrich the familiar life. As the human beings are not machines, the work would have to be the means, not the aim.
Concerning us, we thought that Dra. Chinchilla, like many reflexives Spaniards and European, are (they have been), undergoing in own meat the damage of the hard work tending to benefit - not to the great mass of citizens -, but to a few and to maintain Spain inserted within " the top ten countries". In addition, we considered that the ideas of the Dra. Chinchilla, neither are new, nor revolutionary. Instead of solid ideas with strong philosophical handles, we valued it like a timid reflexion, as opposed to its own viscisitudes.
Personally, always I have thought that the hard work, directed to elevate the production, is a punishment. And, if the work we do not like (as it happens to the 70% of the world-wide population), -but we must do it anyway-, then we attended a variant of the slavery, in which the great population sacrifices its free time, in pró of a minority, that enjoys it.
If it is permitted, try to see the things in this way: if we want to know whichever years of life for himself would have a productive individual that could live 90 years, it will be enough to reduce of the totality of his life-years, the following activities: a-30 years, product of daily dream b-12 years, dedicated to tasks related to the professional improvement: school college, university, post-profesionalización, etc and c-5 years, attributable to unforeseen expenses, diseases, etc. The 3 remaining, unique years possible to be used in ourselves , usually are used in: to rest, seeing TV, to attend or, to see sport spectacles, watching cinema, to make a small trip, etc. That is according to the majority: the happiness; the final reason of the hard work. To be happy, supported by a hard work, could also be to acquire (it does not matter to what cost), a BMW- last model instead of a modest Fiat (although both them serve for the same), unless one inflates the vanity. Then moment to ask ourselves : What would happens if a democratic government, decided to change the things, decided, instead to stretch the work day, to diminish it to 4 horas/daily? and what if he decided also to diminish the studies to : 2 years (primary), 2 years (secondary, equivalent to the 12 degrees, of depevloped countries, including college and 2 years of profesionalizatión), being due to complete the studies that lacked by themselves in self-taught form (with the help of the parents, of the technology, with specialists of our election and, voluntarily.
Then, if now we returned to make the calculations, instead of 3 years, we would have : 23 years of life to entirely dedicate to ourselves, our dearest family and to the humanity. Earning by the 4 daily hours, the necessary to cover our basic needs and to maintain a good one for happening, we will assist to the emergence of the natural creativity present in most people. These, realize their works with fun and creativity. Do not doubt that the steps to make any type of work, would be continuously shortened, not disturbing us that robots working helps in the daily work. With our free time: 1- we would make tasks in which the love towards one same and to the others, has priority 2- we care our children with nore time - completing its education like that works a sculpture and, 3- we will rediscovery the arts, philosophy, the nature, the games and its extension: the sports. What would not means to be against the diversity. If somebody wished to continue working hard to earn more, nobody will oppose him.
